That's a pretty nice beginning ! And your cliffie is definitely evil ! Although, that's a bit of a risk you're taking, since we'll keep bugging you 'til we know what's going to happen... But I like to see the situation from Speidel's point of view. Poor Stauffenberg... Anyway, looking forward to next update !

And people told me I was an evil author with cliffhangers. You'd better update soon, buster. The point of view from Speidel is a very nice way to do it, poor little guy. I can't believe he lost his glasses. That's got to stink.
Just out of curiosity, in this alternate history was Rommel wounded in the strafing attack? Because if he was, it won't be very good news if the Gestapo try to rough him up too, especially with a still-mending triple skull fracture. I guess he and Staffenburg have something in common too, one good eye.

He had a triple skull fracture ? I never knew the exact extent of his injuries, but now I understand why they say the doctor gave up on him in Fox on the Rhine. At first, I thought it had to do with the doctor being French... As for Speidel - I concur, that must be terrible without his glasses. And it is so gestapo-like to do that....

Yeah, after examining him, one doctor said he was going to have to rewrite his lectures; he didn't think any man could live with Rommel's injuries.

"The Desert Cat".
And NO, he definitely did not get strafed in this one...it's just like in Operation Gaff. *evil grin* Maybe he would prefer getting strafed...
And isn't Speidel cool? (Yes, glasses, I know, my friend with glasses was appalled too) I'm asking for his book on Rommel and Normandy for Christmas.
Hmm...I haven't written a cliffie in a while...*another evil grin*

By the way, a desert fox, isn't that also called a fennec ? You don't like Rommel being strafed, uh ? But that's more realistic that way, because he'd be in no shape to be tortured, and where would be the fun then ? Glasses... I have glasses too, but fortunately I don't need them all that much - actually, I rarely use them at all. But I can imagine how frustrating it is when you have a bad sight and you don't have your glasses. Speidel must feel really physically handicapped... Poor him.

It's even smiling. He looks so fluffy and hugable. His coloring is really neat too.

I think you're going to be sitting there a while. You could glue big fake ears on her head, and dye her fur sandy-colored. You might be called down for animal cruelty, though.

My ! That won't do. Reminds me of a story I read about Bellerophon glueing wings to a horse to make it Pegasus. But my cat's fur is rather dark (that's a mix of rust, black, white and cream) and I'd have to bleach it... poor thing). Maybe this summer, when I go to Australia...
