Yeeeeesss ! I wanted it to be an alternate history. We wouldn't want Erwin dead, now, would we ? Though, actually, it would be pretty funny if the Gestapo lied to Speidel and told him Rommel was dead, to make him talk... and once that failed, put him in the same cell as Rommel... My, ain't I twisted... That's a great idea. I'm starting to like Speidel. I have a tendancy to dislike anyone called Hans, dunno why, but I might get around that. So, when do you send the first chapter ?
*thinking* And how the h... did Speidel manage to send a forged letter while a guest of the Gestapo ?

*off to wikipedia to see how Speidel looks*
Actually, he's rather handsome. Not as much as Rommel, but he looks like a nice fella.

He reminds me of Mowett from Master and Commander, except not really.

Lol ! I think I see what you mean. I know you're gonna kill me, but I think he looks a bit like Heinrich Himmler. Round face, glasses... Haaaa ! Don't smack me on the head !

Poor guy, he kinda does! *Gasp* I wonder if he got ribbed about it by the other conspirators. Hey, hey, by the way! I was over at the bookstore again last night, and what do you know, I actually checked for the Rising Tide book by Shaara, and it was there! Of course I stayed as long as possible to start reading it over, and it looks awesome. There're quite a few Rommel chapters in it, along with Eisenhower and Montgomery (even an Albert Kesselring chapter). The only thing I don't like is the language by the folks like Patton, but it's a small price to pay, and I have a bottle of white-out.

Now that would be something funny to write about ! *imagines a fanfic where Speidel disguises as Himmler* After all, if a Russian was able to, why not Speidel ? And here I was wondering how he sent this forged letter in Wingy's fanfic... uhuh.
So you found this book ! Guess that one's gonna be on your Christmas wishlist. I'll have to check whether it was translated in French... 'cause if it wasn't I'll have to order it and that means I'll have to wait before I get it, and that won't do. Did I ever mention I'm a very impatient kind of person ?

You know, we should start a story ideas thread, kind of like our art challenge thread.
Yeah, I found the book, and it's definitely on my wishlist. I'd get it myself but I'm saving to buy presents, and I don't know if someone's already bought it with me in mind. Who knows? The suspense is driving me nuts.

Hardly a month to wait And the story ideas thread is a great idea. I'll start it next time something comes to my mind, unless someone starts it first.

This month passes so slowly, too. It's weird how when you want time to pass, it drags by, and when you want more time, it shoots by. Kind of like stoplights.
Shall we put the story thread in the same section as the art ideas thread?

Well, I for one feel like time is passing by all too quickly. I've got exams in January... Don't feel at all ready. My only comfort is that I'm probably not the only one.
Yup, in the same section, sounds good.

There's Rommel chapters in Rising Tide? NO WAY. I spent a half an hour in the WWII section while Ryan bashed me over the head with Patton: Master of War going through it and looking for his chapter! I found plenty of Patton's...*glares at Patton: Master of War*

Oh, yes, quite a few chapters, and it looks really good, like Shaara's books always do, in my opinion. Course, I've been hooked on his stories for years. Patton: Master of War, huh? You poor thing.

Patton master of what ? Take this blasphemy away from this forum ! Shrine defiler ! If you absolutely have to mention this book, I suggest you write "Patty, master of the kitchen" instead. héhé.
