All right, it has nothing to do with Rommel or WW2 whatsoever, but I need your help as native speakers. Some words are pretty hard to find, even when I know what I'm looking for.
As you might know, I've begun to write my very own novel, and I need a few profanities to make it more... uh... colourful. Let me be clear, all I want is very mild stuff. No "F..." word or the such. The aim is to have characters saying profanities without shocking the reader. I have found mild stuff like "by Jove" or "what the deuce", and even "shards and splinters", although I am not sure this one really exists, but I'd need a few more. And it'd be nice to have a few old-fashioned kind of curses, the kind that were used in the 17th, 18th century, if you know any.
I have a few equivalents in French, like "diantre", "sangdioux", "mordieux", but I never managed to find a translation for these. Then again, I only have access to online dictionaries, and those aren't always very complete. At any rate, if you can help me, I'd be very grateful.

"Well I'll be damned"
"Bloody"
"Bloody hell!"
"You bloody moron!"
"Bloomin idiot!" Australian
"He's right bloomin out of his mind!" an example of Australian use of "bloomin"
"Gott en Himmel!" God in Heaven, German
"Oh my god!"
"Jesus Christ!"
"Jesus!"
"Christ!"
"By the Gods!" Ancient times
"Blast it to hell!"
"To hell with you!"
"Frack!" Heh, okay its not really spoken but I say it.
"Holy Mother of God!" and any other religious themed exclaimations
Those are the ones that I can think of. "Bloody" and "Bloomin" can sub either "Sh.." or "F...". In fact, I think its considered a strong profanity to the British and Australians. Here in America its actually mild and not used as much.

I don't know about "bloomin'" but I do think "bloody" is a strong profanity for the british. Thanks for all these ! It'll sure be a great help. Sometimes, chasing after vocabulary all across the net is driving me crazy !

Tch, 'tisn't anymore. I say bloody all the time in front of my British friends, and they think it's hilarious because it's outdated. I asked my friend Andy about it, and he said, (I quote directly), "No, that's something you would say when you got shot doing the war. Some bloke would get shot, and he'd jerk back and say, 'Ahh, bloody hell!'" So there you have it. My advice--pirate insult sites! Everyone loves pirate insults. I'll put some of my own up later...*is lazy*

You have pirate insults ? Tehe, that's good, 'cause my novel is about pirates. I'd very very much interested in anything you can give me...
