Brilliant!
"Dad misbehaved, Manfred."
Oh, he screwed up big time there...mwahahaha!!!! I LOVED it! Fabulous! He drove all the way to France to get her perfume...what a nice guy. And Manfred was always getting between them, poor kid. I loved the pony!
There are so many quotable lines in there...hmm...

Schnetzel? Pray, pardon mine ignorance, good people, but thou confuseth me by thy words. Giveth me a hint, I beg thee. Who iseth Schnetzel? (You knoweth, it is most sad, but yea, I have fallen further into Old English, past the eths, and into the prays and yeas. Take thee pity upon my wretched case, and update soon. It is but a small boon I ask of thee.

Oh! Ignorant me! I should have remembered that esteemed steed; he playedeth so very a large place in thy story. Pray forgive me, my friend. I shall henceforth endeavor to recall the noble Shcnetzel. Thou really shouldest draw him, when thee getteth the time. Twould make a fine picture.

Yup, that's pretty hard speaking old english. Think I'll have to re-read Shakespearian plays.
Your mom liked it ? I'm so flattered ! Thanks a lot.

Wow this was a wonderfully amusing read! I really loved how you portrayed his relationship with Lucie and his son. The fact you made him out to be so down to earth and human was a delight in and of itself! I really do hope that you continue to write fiction about Rommel and his 'adventures' =D
