Lol... well what i wrote was just off the top of my head. Of course Rommel and the German Government are going to have a ... chat of some sorts. I was thinking that Manfred did try to find his father and hence why the government started to pay more attention to the "mysterious prisoner". Rommel wouldn't answer their questions and probably would have told them not to bother locking him up again. He did survive sixty years in a cell he could survive another sixty. Also, Rommel is an illusionist (a real one, not those fakes who do tricks). If he didnt choose to chat with the government, he'd make them think he was still in the cell. Why he didn't try to escape before is due to Mordred somehow restraining him, I havent quite figured that out yet.
Anyway, Rommel and Manfred do meet again but very briefly. Long enough for Rommel to explain Manfred's heritage to him and what he plans on doing.
As for loving Lucie. Sure he has distanced himself from relationships in the past but, like in Highlander, the immortal always comes across at least one person in his endless life that he falls deeply in love with. Unfortunately for the Highlander, the relationship never ends happily. He's either arrested to be beheaded or the girl is killed by another immortal.
I've always seen Lucie as a strong and intelligent woman with a powerful presence. I've gotten the impression thats why Rommel married her in the first place.
Anyway, i have to get to work... I'll finish this post later.
Oh and why I considered this idea... it came from reading how Rommel always seemed to kiss and cheat death. He was either very damned lucky or immortal :-p
