Yes, please. Bring on chapter three. Would it help if we begged? (Not that we aren't already.)

Ach, That was a pretty nice read ! I liked the way Lucie is described, she really seems like someone Erwin could love. And I also liked that she disagreed with her husband on some things (like Goebbels), that gives her a personnality. Speaking of Goebbels, I liked the way his picture "glared at people" from the newspaper. Did Rommel really have this long-sightedness in his right eye ? Thinking of it, I remember seeing him put on his glasses to read in the DF movie, but that was after his car was strafed.
If I was to guess what's going to happen, I'd say he'll be taken to the Allies (he could also escape, but then nothing would be changed) and they'll show him proof of the concentration camps. Then he'll go back (freed either by the allies or by a commando) and realize he can't support Hitler any longer, so he'll take his army and free the Jews, then take control of the country...
So, how good am I at guessing ?

You forgot the "e" - Surprise is feminine Let's say you mistyped it. I love your chapter three ! (I already said it, but no harm in saying it a second time...) You have a way to keep the reader breathless while the story unfolds... Say, you didn't choose "Ryan" as just a stray name, did you ? It was nice to have another point of view on Rommel, too. Well, I'd have expected him to try to escape, but he was so heavily garded he didn't have many chances anyway. Did he get seasick ? Ah, I'm sure he didn't (or if he did, he didn't let it known). The story of the Seagull and her crew was also very realistic... I just thought of one thing ; if they pretend to be French seamen, how comes the ship's name is in English ? I'd have expected it to be rather "la Mouette" or something like that. Just a thought. And here come my suspicions... They do have something in mind for Rommel, don't they ? The only question is what... Maybe fight the Russians, or... maybe they want him to become head of the New German Government, and offer all Germans to join him to throw Hitler out of the country ? Like a counter power ? Gosh, my imagination will be the end of me... great work anyway.

Maybe Rommel will still escape and be wandering the streets of London, though that's entirely impossible, right? I do wonder what they have in mind for him. And I hope Hitler won't take his anger out on Lucie and Manfred.

My ! *pictures Rommel having a drink in a pub, with his bad english*
Hitler'd better not touch Lucy and Manfred - the people wouldn't like it. Thinking of it... does Hitler suspect Rommel of having taken a part in the plot in OG ?

If Hitler suspects Rommel of being involved in the plot, or willfully deserting with the commandos, Lucy and Manfred won't be safe no matter what the people say. Remember what happened to all the conspirators' families after the failed plot, even down to cousin in one instance?
And what will Hitler do if Rommel accepts this mysterious English plan for himself? Those commandos better go back and capture Rommel's family too, for their own safety.

Well, Hitler did offer Rommel to commit suicide because he wanted to avoid to draw too much attention to his execution, because he was very famous. Not to mention everybody knows Rommel's Hitler's favourite general ; what does poor Adolf look like if his favourite general deserts him ? And killing his family is proof enough that Adolf must have evidence of said betrayal. That might make people think (if even Rommel turns against Hitler, he must have a reason).
But mere suspicion of taking part in a plot (I don't think they had enough evidences to win a fair trial) is different from siding openly with the ennemy. If Erwin does that... evidently his fame won't protect his family much longer - quite the contrary, actually.
On the other hand, the British should have foreseen that, so why didn't they send commandos to take Lucie and Manfred too while they were at it ? But maybe they did, only Wingy's not written this part yet. Unless we're dead wrong - which I guess we'll know in chapter four. Which *looks pointedly at Wingy* we're still waiting for.

Speculation, isn't it fun? Actually, it's funner to know what's happening. The question is, when will we know?
