Okay, you all know what a Round Robin is. I suppose. Here is what I propose ; we keep the rules to a minimum. The aim is to have fun. In other words, write what you like, when you like, as long as you like. We just need to agree on a general plot, and then we can write the story. The only mandatory rules are these :
1. Each post must be in accord with previous post. If two opposite things are stated, the most ancient post will be taken as a reference. If two posts are posted at the same time, the authors of said posts shall talk together and find an agreement if need be to see which things should be changed.
2. Each post should follow the main plot the writers will have agreed upon previously to the writing.
As for the plot. Well, I just had this idea about Hans Speidel being mistakenly sent to Africa as Rommel's C-o-S, when Rommel already has one ; Fritz Bayerlein. Since Hans doesn't want to be sent back to the Russian Front, he tries to convince Rommel that he's a better C-o-S than Fritz, and since Fritz doesn't want to be sent at all to the Russian Front, he tried to get rid of Hans by any means necessary... The story would be focused on the relationship between both C-o-S and Rommel.
That's only one suggestion. Feel free to post you own plot ideas, and then we shall choose which one we prefer. So what do you think ? Feel free to change the rules as well, it's just guidelines anyway.

Just for clarification, because I've never done this before. It's like an ongoing story, right? And each person writes a chunk of it after the previous writer. Somewhat like roleplaying, except writing?

Thats the gist of it DS. Been a while since I've done one.

Yes, that's what I have in mind. I've never done it before... well, once, for a Star Wars story about dear Admiral Piett, but it stopped pretty quickly. But we can pretty much do what we like anyway. I thought that writing each a bit of the story like you described would be the best way.

So would there be a particular order of writers, or just never going after yourself?

No particular order, I think. Just not going after yourself (although you may edit your post, and that's pretty much the same thing). That way, no waiting for someone whose computer is broken, and no feeling guilty because you haven't written and are thus preventing the others from writing.

Most of the time when I did SW RRs, the group just did short snippets of about five or so paragraphs. Sometimes a certain character was assigned to one author because that person was believed to have done that character justice. I did a lot of Thrawn RRs and I was always stuck with Thrawn and I swear he was the hardest character to ever write in character.

Say, maybe the different writers could write from the viewpoints of different characters. Like Wing could handle Hans, etc.

I think our posts came at the same time. So who would be right for the different character portrayals?

Both methods can be used. We just have to decide on which one.

I would definitely nominate Wing for Hans if we did it that way. I don't think he-ahem-she would have it any other way.

Hum, I like the idea of each having a character's point of view a lot, but if we do it that way, it'll be harder to link the posts together. I mean, if we have a post about Hans at one place, and then one of Fritz in some other place... Well, if you like the idea too, we can give it a try, and if it doesn't work then we can revert back to no particular point of view. What do you think ?
And in that case... who'd get Rommel ?

Catfight! ;D
But honestly, I think it wouldn't be a problem, because they're in different places at different times, no matter who writes them. And when they're together, it should flow nicely.
So, characters.
Hans- Rommel- Bayerlein- ?

Hum, say, since absentees are always wrong, I would just snatch Hans, couldn't I ?
...
Ah, just kidding. I don't want to be killed by Wing. Anyway, there are four of us, so who'd be the fourth character ? An original character, or another officer ?

Maybe a newsman reporting on the undergoing fight. That would be fun, and he could be an original character too, fictional.
