I think that's an actor, am I right? Though he's probably doing his best to look like Patton.

And he's rather successful. I wanna bash him.

Well, that's pretty impressive, but I'd rather a Rommel impersonator... Hmm, after second thought, forget it... Who could ever impersonate successfully a man such as Rommel ?

Ed Harris could...as I keep telling Stephen Spielberg.

Yeah, that would be pretty nice to have a real biography in three movies each three hours long. After all, there's a lot to tell. His childhood, world war one, the time between wars, world war too... The Desert Fox was nice, but too limited.

That sounds suspiciously like Lord of the Rings.
Ha! LOTR--Desert Fox style. Rommel the hobbit!

I wish they'd make a big movie on Rommel, expensive and top-notch special effects and all that. Rommel the hobbit? That's one I could have never thought of. Oh my. Oh my oh my. It kinda fits, with him being a little on the short side, but he'd never give up his shiny black boots.

Yeah, it was meant to sound like the Lord of the Ring... You think we could send the request to Hollywood ? ) Rommel the Hobbit... aw my god... thinking of which... how tall was he ? On the photographs, he does look short, and I always described him as such (well, what can I say ? I like short people), but exactly how short ? I'd say around 5'8, or 1m70, depending what measure system you use (which would actually make him a bit taller than me), but it's hard to say. The Lord of the Desert Rommel : Boromir ? Adolf : Sauron, of course Himmler : The King-Wizard of Angmar (not sure that's the correct translation) The SS : The nazguls The French people : The hobbits The Allies : the elfs The nazis : The orcs The neutrals : the dwarves (did you notice that Gimli is about the only dwarf we see in the whole trilogy ? They weren't much involved in the war...) Denethor : Patton Theoden : Eisenhower ? Or Monty maybe. Gandalf : uh... Churchill ? (I can't say I like Gandalf much...)
